Skincare among young people: a phenomenon influenced by social media, analyzed with EBI expertise
The skincare trend among children and teenagers, widely disseminated on social media, is now raising questions among healthcare professionals and the bio-industries. Masks, serums, creams: the beauty routines shared online by minors are multiplying and are often inspired by adult practices. However, these products are not always suitable for skin that is still developing.
In a recent RFI report on this phenomenon, professionals explain that the accumulation of skincare products and the use of inappropriate active ingredients can weaken the skin barrier and lead to adverse reactions. Marjorie Lassalle, Formulation Engineer at EBI, provides her scientific insight into the ingredients found in some of these products targeting younger skin.
This statement perfectly illustrates EBI’s mission: to train engineers capable of providing scientific expertise to address societal and industrial challenges. It also demonstrates the school’s involvement in public debate, raising awareness of best practices for good health.
