Dijon is experimenting with a low-carbon drug through the ACVmed project
In Dijon, a pilot project called ACVmed aims to reduce the carbon footprint of drug manufacturing. It brings together the University of Burgundy Europe, the Delpharm Dijon industrial site, and EBI, alongside local players committed to the ecological transition.
The project is based on an analysis of the life cycle of medicines, which helps identify the stages that emit the most CO₂ so we can suggest concrete ways to reduce it.
This groundbreaking experiment in France also aims to develop measurement and training tools to support the decarbonization of the pharmaceutical sector.
In a context where the health industry heavily impacts the national carbon footprint, ACVmed could serve as a model for more sustainable and better-assessed drug production.
