Our teacher-researchers honored at international conferences!
The EBI at the heart of pharmaceutical and cosmetic research
True hubs of innovation and scientific dissemination, conferences allow our teams to share their work, to exchange with scientists from around the world, and to strengthen EBI’s academic and industrial partnerships. They reflect the dynamism and quality of the research conducted at EBI.
EuPFI 2025, September 17 in Bordeaux – Pediatric formulation and pharmaceutical innovation
Jad Eid and Samar Issa presented promising research results in the field of molecular modeling applied to pediatric formulation. They presented a ‘proof of concept’ based on the integration of bioinformatics and artificial intelligence to better understand the bitterness receptor.
An innovative methodology to improve the acceptability of medicines:
- Use of molecular modeling tools to characterize ligand-receptor interactions
- Development of an algorithm capable of classifying molecules according to their bitterness intensity
- Potential application in the design of pediatric drugs better tolerated by young patients
This work is part of a global approach aimed at mobilizing digital research tools in the service of pharmaceutical innovation and the development of solutions tailored to the specific needs of children.
IFSCC 2025, September 18 in Cannes – Cosmetic sciences and sensory innovation
Marc Lavarde and Marjorie Lassalle highlighted EBInnov® research in sensory evaluation applied to hair products, a rapidly evolving market driven by innovation in ingredients.
Towards new approaches in sensory evaluation:
- Development of experimental protocols to quantify consumers’ sensory perception
- Scientific enhancement of interactions between innovative ingredients and hair product performance
- Contribution to a better understanding of the mechanisms of sensory acceptability in the cosmetic sector
This research illustrates the role of the team in the transition to more efficient cosmetics focused on the user experience.
An integrated scientific strategy
Beyond these 2 congresses, the teacher-researchers of EBI regularly participate in specialized symposiums, colloquia, and conferences. These participations cover a variety of topics – biotechnology, health and pharmaceutical science, cosmetics and sensory science, industrial bioprocesses, bioinformatics, and artificial intelligence. EBI thus continues its mission: to train engineers while actively contributing to the advancement of scientific knowledge in rapidly evolving fields.
Thus, participation in these scientific events:
- Strengthen the visibility of the EBI in the academic and industrial community
- Feeds pedagogy: the teachings incorporate the advances presented at conferences
- Stimulates innovation by promoting the emergence of collaborative projects
- Creates opportunities for students involved in research projects and made aware of scientific communication
