Ecotrophelia Contest 2026

Dr. Sylvia Imbart, Head of the biology competency area and a biology and rheology professor at EBI, participated in the Ecotrophelia competition as a member of the technical jury.

On this occasion, she evaluated the projects of nine student teams, alongside experts from complementary fields like packaging, quality, food standards, and research.

This experience allowed us to see the high level of creativity and innovation among students in the food field. The projects they presented show their ability to tackle current industry challenges by developing innovative, sustainable products that meet the new expectations of consumers.

Beyond evaluating the projects, this participation was also a great opportunity to chat with the other jury members about the big trends shaping the food of tomorrow. One of the most notable changes is the strong momentum around dehydrated products, which are attracting growing interest thanks to their benefits in terms of preservation, reducing food waste, and optimizing transport.

Dr. Sylvia Imbart’s participation in this competition shows EBI’s commitment to developing food innovation and the close connection it has with academic and industry players in the sector.
