2026 Ingénieuses Ceremony
The 2026 Ingénieuses awards ceremony, organized by the CDEFI in Paris and hosted by Clémence Bernard, Director General of EBI, once again highlighted the initiatives, career paths, and commitments that help advance the role of women in science and engineering.
This 16th edition brought together engineering schools, students, professionals, and partners around a strong conviction: gender diversity is a key driver of innovation, creativity, and performance in meeting the challenges of tomorrow.
In his opening address, Emmanuel Duflos, President of the CDEFI, highlighted the importance of an approach to engineering that is “open, international, and grounded in reality, capable of bringing together diverse experiences in the service of innovation and the public interest.” This message resonates particularly strongly with the values upheld by EBI.
Encouraging women to pursue careers in science
Even today, women account for only about 29% of engineering students in France. While some sectors—such as the life sciences and the agri-food industry—show better female representation, many scientific and technological disciplines remain characterized by a significant imbalance.
In light of this situation, higher education institutions have a major role to play in supporting young women, highlighting inspiring career paths, and dismantling the stereotypes that persist around scientific professions.
At EBI, this ambition translates into a daily environment that fosters diverse profiles, openness, and equal opportunities. The school supports its students in shaping their academic and professional paths, while encouraging their self-confidence and entrepreneurial spirit.
Building the engineering of tomorrow
EBI fully embraces the values upheld by the Ingénieuses competition and congratulates all the winners, nominees, and recognized institutions on their commitment to gender diversity.
Now more than ever, it is essential to continue shifting perceptions and encouraging younger generations to consider careers in science and technology without self-censorship.
Because the engineering of tomorrow will be built on a diversity of talents, EBI remains committed to promoting science that is open, inclusive, and full of opportunities for everyone.
