Research Day: Final Year Projects 2026

At EBI, research is at the heart of teaching. Students thrive in an academic environment designed by and for research. Throughout their Bachelor’s and Engineering programs, they develop their mastery of the experimental method through practical work and applied projects.

In their final year, regardless of their specialization, they face a major challenge: working as a team to address a concrete research problem over the course of a semester. Similar to scientific conferences, they then present their results to a jury of professionals and experts in the field.

A look back at the 2026 edition in pictures:

A professionalizing exercise

The culmination of several months of investment, this day allowed each student to take on a demanding challenge: convincing a jury in 3 minutes, through the presentation of a scientific poster and the summary of their project.

A formative and stimulating exercise, which concretely prepares our future engineers for the expectations of the professional world: scientific rigor, ability to synthesize, critical thinking and ease in speaking.

Congratulations to the students and the 2026 award winners

Research Day remains an emblematic event of EBI, revealing the academic excellence, spirit of innovation and professionalism of its students.

Congratulations to the teams of the 5 winning projects, who will have the opportunity to compete at Confère, the Conference on Design and Innovation Sciences:

  • Research: In silico screening of strategies against bio-corrosion
  • Design: Characterization of encapsulating materials for laundry care
  • Processes: Optimization of protein extraction from borage meal
  • Regulations: preparation for the launch of concentrated syrup beads
  • Marketing: Market research for the creation of a company producing a bio-based and biodegradable bioplastic

This work fully illustrates the diversity and relevance of the research carried out at EBI, at the interface of life sciences, biotechnologies and bio-industries.
