Teaching Principles

Since 1992, EBI has been training, over 5 years, rigorous, responsible, operational engineers who are keen to get involved in production and R&D in the pharmaceutical, health & beauty, cosmetic, agribusiness, environmental, biotech, diagnostics and analytical instrumentation sectors.

A dynamic school for highly-trained young adults

EBI specialises in:

•  General and multidisciplinary bioprocess training

•  The focus on regulations, safety, environment and quality required in the sectors concerned

•  Industrial economics and management training

•  Job-specific options in the final year to enable smooth insertion into the workforce.

Our students achieve four areas of development:

•  A biologist's mind

•  The precision of an engineer

•  A keenness for industrial production

•  Character-building through personal development.

Students also complete projects to develop their entrepreneurial skills.

This training forms unique engineers who are renowned in their field of expertise and, through their involvement in student activities, well balanced, open-minded, active members of society and forward thinking managers.

Tutoring our students

Each student devises a career plan with his or her tutor. One-on-one discussions with professors help students develop these plans.

Aims

- To help students optimise their work methods should problems arise

- To help students contact firms (CV, letter, phone calls, relations)

- To help students choose the type of work placement adapted to their projects

- To help students pinpoint their chosen career and realise their plans

Means

Students manage a meeting schedule with their chosen tutor. Meetings are set up by the students rather than the tutors, unless serious academic or disciplinary problems occur.

Tutors supervise students in choosing options and work placements throughout their education. In this manner, year after year, students build professional and personal plans based on their strengths, limitations and desires. The multi-disciplinary nature of the training and the time devoted to developing these plans are the key to the success of our alumni.
